Jonathan will announce second term presidential ambition – Pressure Group

The National Secretary, Board of Trustees of Jonathan Mandate Group, JMG, Segun Adewale, said President Goodluck Jonathan will soon officially announce his second term ambition.

He added that the group was equally set to work round the clock in ensuring the President’s return in 2015.

Mr. Adewale disclosed this to journalists when he paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the secretariat of the party along Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta.

Mr. Adewale, who is aspires to contest the Ogun State Governorship seat on the platform of the PDP, noted that constitutionally Mr. Jonathan was eligible to run for the presidency again.

“A lot of people are calling on him to run but he is still dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and at the appropriate time, Mr. President will certainly declare his intention and we are asking him to please run because he has done more good to this country than any government that ever ruled,” Mr. Adewale stated.

While explaining delay in the President’s official announcement, he pointed out that there was no date for anybody under the constitution to declare his intention.

“We are still within the period and that is what we talk about in governance. In PDP, we consult widely before decisions are taken,” he said.

The journalist-turned-politician admitted that the JMG was a pressure group whose focus was to ensure election victory for Mr. Jonathan.

“I am the National Secretary of the Board of Trustee of Jonathan Mandate Group. As the name implies,we are pressure group working for the return of Mr President in 2015. We are a group of people that believe in his works. We are a group that believes in what he has done for Nigeria and ourselves. Many other teaming Nigerians are members of the group working for the realisation of this project. That is what the group is doing and we are sensitising the people across Nigeria on what the President is doing and what he can still do if allowed to run again” he said.

Whatever, we don’t need to be decieve again. Nigerians have decided not to vote for him again because his pity won’t work this time. We need a change and we are moving toward that in 2015. People are dying everyday and no job for youths in the nation. Our dear president is doing nothing for the betterment also but only focus on his ambition….we need change of ruler to leader

  • charles

wolves in sheep clothing…vultures and vampires hovering over a dying nation…this is where our tax payers money…our oil wealth is been vanquished in the face of hunger..unemployment…health and security challenges in the land…we hail thee Nigeria !

Jonathan will announce “THIRD TERM” presidential ambition. Why are you not telling us that. What about the Yar’adua tenure he completed for two yrs. There is nothing like “free tenure” or “bonus tenure” in the constitution, and the ticket was Yar’adua/Jonathan and not just Yar’adua. So after next four yrs he will end being the longest serving president ever in naija, and for achieving what? Absolutely Nothing.

    • the truth

stop talking without facts or points. It clearly states in Section 137(1) (b) of the 1999 Constitution. please read what it says and report back

Since you can’t pour and store water in a basket, therefore I can’t argue with people living in denial.

  • True Nigerian

Dr. Jonah, izokay my oil brother. You don’t have to announce anything as we all know it already. My curiosity and trauma is only in relation to what you will say this time around as the reason we should vote. In 2011, you said you didn’t have any shoes. So instead of giving you some shoes and sending you home to Otuoke, some us who are gullible decided to put you into Aso Villa where there are all sizes of shoes, including gold-plated shoes, silver-plated shoes, armour-plated shoes and even some shoes that are made with naira, pounds and dollar currency notes. What has baffled us is the shocking discovery that all shoes are oversize for you, no matter how small their size may be. It is a terrible situation.

So I don’t know what you will tell those of us who are not your political Almajiris. If you say you once couldn’t buy a newspaper, even all the mumus in Nigeria (including members of TAN) are now aware that you have been spending more than N15m per year on Newspapers and yet somehow you would ask your aides “Na for where Chibok dey sef?” If you talk say you be Igbo man, proper, insightful and honest Igbos will tell you that a true Igbo man will not enslave Eastern Nigeria with the mindless cost inflation on the 2nd Niger Bridge which you have now turned around to say it would be ready in 2019 after promising in 2011 that the bridge would be completed before the end of your first tenure.

If you say there was time when you once didn’t have food, many will be quick to remind you that you have since been eating with $1billion per year. Lucky Patience; she’s been cooking dishes in which gold and diamonds are used as condiments.

If you say this time that you will become a man of the house and chase boko haram away, Nigerians will not believe it because Dame Patience Faka Jonathan has already told us that she is now a widow as she referred to widows as “my fellow widows.” Patience Jonathan discovered that we didn’t have a President, she told us on that day, but we didn’t get the message because we thought she was having another problem with grammar. As if to show us further that she knew what what she was saying, she later called the Chibok victims to her office and told them “the First lady wants to bring home ya child, ya children, and you don’t want to cooperate”. Dame knew you had no capacity to help us, but we did not get the message.

In 2011, you said sold to our religious brainlessness the pictures of the scene where Daddy GO appointed and anointed you like David. And we fell flat for the trick. If you say this time around that Daddy GO Adeboye has prayed for you, people will say that his last prayers for you in 2011 did not deliver you from the evil spirit of stealing, corruption, waste and mindless incompetence which followed you from Otuoke to Aso Presidential estates.

If you say this time around that you have a PhD, people are going to ask you whether your version of PhD means “Push Her Down” or “Presidential Hopelessness & Drunkard”.

If you say that you will hire Okonjo Iweala and Diezani, people will say they are tired of Harvard and Howard certificates that cannot even manage to solve amala & ewedu problem at Oshodi.

Mr President, biko make the announcement quickly so that Nigerians can send you back to where your shoe sizes are found in Otuoke. Nigeria is a massive oversize for you. And cobblers all over the world (including Obama) are tired of trying to shrink Nigeria into your impossible shoe size.

One last warning: Don’t you dare rig this election! Don’t even think of it! Nigeria is already too hot to accommodate higher temperature. The next rise in the temperature will be to a melting point. I know you are Obasanjo’s curse on Nigeria, but I am just hoping that you will be wise to leave us in peace by not bringing down what could happen if our vote is tampered with again.
