APC chief attacks Asari-Dokubo over attack on Buhari

Okechukwu asked security agencies to interrogate the leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force

For alleging that a former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, masterminded the assassination attempt on his own life last week, the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Mujahid Asaari-Dokubo has come under attack from a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress [APC], Osita Okechukwu.

The convoy of Mr. Buhari, also a leader of the APC, was attacked with a bomb last Wednesday in the Kawo area of Kaduna metropolis. Although he escaped unhurt, two of his aides were injured while scores were killed.

In a statement on Monday, Mr. Okechukwu, who is also the spokesperson of the APC in the South East geo-political zone, said Mr. Asari-Dokubo’s statement was the height of recklessness and sheer irresponsibility because even the enemies of the former military head of state vowed for his integrity, patriotism, uncommon sincerity of purpose and transparency.

“One can understand that Asari-Dokubo is one of the beneficiaries of the present administration, which made it possible for him to own a university,” he said.

“However one is at a loss why the hate monger now posses more information on state matters than President Goodluck Jonathan, the C-in-C, who toed different line when he said those who planned the attacks are clearly sons of devil,

“From all indications, Asari-Dokubo’s diatribe is a betrayal of his phobia that the possible candidature of General Buahri in the 2015 presidential election may put an end to the slush fund accruing to him.”

Describing the NDPVF leader as an ethnic jingoist who preaches hate, Mr. Okechukwu wondered if the late Civil war hero, Mohammed Shuwa, Emir of Gwoza and other uncountable Nigerians who were mowed down by the Boko Haram sect also masterminded their deaths.

He urged the security agencies to interrogate Mr. Asari-Dokubo to enable him provide more information on his claim that Mr. Buhari masterminded the assassination attempt.

“It is now self evident that Asari-Dokubo is privy to critical state security information on the Kaduna mayhem; therefore one calls on security agents to interrogate him forthwith. In sum, it is high time the blame game stops,” he said.

ASARI (DUMB) DOKUBO IS A GOVERNMENT BACKED CELEBRATED CRIMINAL.

      WHAT ABOUT TINUBU

“…Buhari was not using bullet-proof car before. I know Buhari very well. Why did he use bullet-proof car that day? He did not die. None of his aides died…”
    – Terrorist Asari Dokubo speaking at a press conference (page 5, SUNDAY SUN, July 27, 2014)

    Questions:

    1. How come Asari Dokubo knows Buhari very well, as claimed by him, considering they are not residential neighbours in any town?

    2. How and why did he know Buhari doesn’t use bullet-proof cars except on that particular date?

    3. Does it mean he knows all the cars General Buhari has?

    4. If so, why and how did he know all the cars General Buhari uses?

    5. Does it mean he has been monitoring the movements and personal activities of the General?

    6. Why was he interested in the personal details and movements of General Buhari?

    7. At what point in time did he generate interest in knowing all the cars and movements of the General?

    8. Why was he fuming and angry that General Buhari and his aides did not die so much that he had to call a press conference to express his anger and frustration?

    9. And, why is Asari Dokubo angry that General Buhari uses bullet-proof cars? Has it become unlawful to use bullet-proof cars in an insecure country by those who can afford it?

    10. Finally, hasn’t this same Asari Dokubo threatened General Buhari along with other northern or Hausa/Fulani politicians and leaders in his previous media interviews?

For those who don’t know, Asari Dokubo is a high profile terrorist with direct access to Nigeria’s Presidential Villa, and when the government of Benin Republic arrested him in December 2013 over Boko Haram related activities it was the Jonathan government that pressured them to release him.

Again, it becomes imperative and compelling for the international community to help Nigeria unearth every fact and truth relating to the security crisis in the country, which also makes it compelling that the Obasanjo and Nyako letters should be revisited.

    • yaji

My thoughts exactly, Asari surely has the protection, means, access, motive and expertise to commit all this carnage. I mean for the past week in Kano we’ve seen at least ten attempts, only a state supported terrorist can achieve that. Thank you

Former MILITARY Governor of Kaduna State Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar (rtd) told Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s supporters yesterday to stop linking the Federal Government with the assassination attempt on the former Head of State.

He said the Federal Government would not have provided Gen. Buhari with additional SECURITY if it planned to assassinate him.

Col. Umar, in a statement in Kaduna, in reaction to an interview granted the Hausa service of the BBC by one of the General’s supporters, who blamed the Federal Government for the attack, said: “I was concerned and worried by possible dangerous repercussions of such allegations on the peace and unity of the country, which is currently under severe stress. I therefore decided not only to condemn their actions but also to adduce evidence to counter their wrong and preposterous allegations. Unfortunately, my statement, which was published, did not entirely include most of the points I raised in my rebuttal. To avoid misrepresentation and misunderstanding, I find it necessary to issue this clarification.

“When about four months ago Gen. Muhammadu Buhari issued a condemnation of the activities of Boko Haram (BH) sect, the Presidency praised him for what it saw as an act of courage and statesmanship. Some of us agreed and welcomed this reaction, particularly because it would have the positive effect of building the much-needed consensus in the war against the BH insurgency. We were also delighted by Gen. Buhari’s action because it provided another evidence, if any was needed, that he was not a religious bigot and, like most Northerners, did not share or support any terrorist religious ideology.

“However, fearing the usual BH reprisal, we advised the Federal Government to beef up security around the General. The Federal Government agreed and reached out to Gen. Buhari with this proposal. By mutual consent, his security was upgraded. I have no doubt that this must have contributed to his survival of the attack.

“The point then is, how can a government that is intent on assassinating the general provide him with added security? It would have been most strange indeed for a government planning to assassinate this very popular Northern icon to retain as its National Security Adviser, Colonel M.S. Dasuki, son of the (former) Sultan of Sokoto and his brother-in –law, General Aliyu Gusau, as its Minister of Defence, or even its Inspector General of Police, M.D. Abubakar from Zamfara State. Let him respond to Umar also–abi the ibo man is scared of him

  • TRUTH MASTER

Thank you Osita. Your statement is well thought out. As for Asari Dokubo, he will recant in the fullness of time. But that will not save him from coughing out the ill-gotten wealth he has amassed, on the basis of which his big mouth has been leaking.

100 of Asari Dokubo’s hero cannot match Buhari. That is the truth!

“I have since learned that the bulletproof vehicle in which General Buhari was riding at the time of the attack was provided for him by an APC chieftain, possibly an APC governor. My reaction to this is that it does not detract from the fact that the Federal Government indeed reinforced the General’s security about four months ago. Bulletproof vehicle is only a component of the security infrastructure. General Buhari himself was reported to have told Sahara TV: ‘I am not bothered by them (BH) targeting me. The government has given me adequate protection’”

Col. Dangiwa Umar also appealed to the political elites to desist from politics of brinkmanship aimed at achieving their narrow political interests. “They need not be reminded that a violent disintegration of Nigeria would be an ill wind that will blow nobody any good.”
