The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Akintunde Soyemi as the Managing Director of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.
The spokesperson of the agency, Femi Dokunmu, in a statement, said the appointment was approved by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The appointment which is for four years takes effect from June 5.
Until his appointment, Mr. Soyemi was the Authority’s Executive Director, Planning and Design. He is an Agriculture Engineer and a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State. He joined the agency in 1981 as an Agric Engineer.
He attended Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 1980 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Irrigation Engineering in 1984 from the School of Advance Mediterranean Agronomic Studies, Valenzo, Bari, Italy.
He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the American Society of Agric Engineers. He is happily married with children.
