The voters registration ended on Monday.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun has called on INEC to extend the voters’ registration exercise which came to a close on Monday.
Kunle Oyatomi, APC’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy in Osun, made the call while commenting on the conduct of the exercise on Monday in Osogbo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that INEC had scheduled the exercise for between Wednesday and Monday as part of its preparation for the governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti States.
Mr. Oyatomi said the extension became necessary because the registration had been disrupted thus denying many prospective voters their chances of registering for the forthcoming elections.
“From day one of the exercise, thugs had disrupted the exercise in several registration centres across the state even up till Monday, the last day of the exercise.
“All the crisis-ridden centres should be allowed to open for more days with the protection of security agents to enable those who are yet to register to do so,” he said.
