INEC said it would not extend the voters registration exercise.
The Public Relations Officer of INEC in Ekiti, Taiwo Gbadegesin, on Monday said that the names of all registered voters in the state would be displayed on Tuesday.
Mr. Gbadegesin said this while speaking to journalists shortly after monitoring the last day of the Continuous Voters Registration exercise in Ado-Ekiti.
He said the names of all eligible voters captured by INEC’s data machine would be pasted at the various registration centres across the state.
The spokesman said the purpose of the display was for people or political parties to make claims or raise objections where necessary.
He said the exercise would also enable those whose names were wrongly spelled to make amends.
Mr. Gbadegesin said the display would expose anyone with double registration or who registered by proxy, adding that anyone found erring would be prosecuted by INEC.
He also said that the commission would not extend the registration exercise as being clamoured by a cross section of the people.
Mr. Gbadegesin urged all those who missed the exercise to wait till January 2015 when another exercise would take place.
