Ogun: Man arrested for beating teenage daughter to death – Police

The suspect ran away after committing the crime.

An Ogun State resident, Bisi Onigbogbo, has been arrested for allegedly beating his daughter, Yemi Onigbogbo, to death while trying to discipline her.

The Ogun police said the suspect committed the crime on Monday and ran away immediately he noticed that the 12-year-old had died.

The Ogun police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said efforts by the police and help from the community members later led to the arrest of the suspect.

He said the Commissioner of Police had directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Eleweran for further investigation.

He warned parents and guardians to correct their children and wards with moderation as the law would not pardon any excesses.
