Oyo judges honoured by Law School classmates

The judges were called to bar in 1993

Some months after their appointment as judicial officers, two judges of the Oyo State High Court, Lekan Owolabi, and Yemi Ajayi, were, Wednesday evening, honoured by their Law School classmates.

The judges were honoured at a dinner held in Ibadan to mark the 20 years post call to bar of the 1993 Law School graduates.

According to the protem chairman of the group, Lara Adeyemi, the programme was held to assess the last 20 years following their training as lawyers. She said that while many had made their mark in the profession, others, who ventured into fields outside law, have been equally successful.

The gathering drew members of the set from within and outside the state among whom was the Oyo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ojo Adebayo.

In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Babatunde Aiku, commended the set, which, according to him, had the largest set of lawyers practicing in Ibadan.

Mr. Aiku, who is a former chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, said that the set had made the profession proud with their comportment. He charged them to remain committed to the job and always give their best to the profession.

A minute silence was also observed in honour of their dead members.
