Gbenga Daniel organises political workshop for Ogun journalists

A former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, has organised a two-day political workshop for media practitioners in the state. The workshop is scheduled to hold on Saturday and Sunday.

The workshop organised by a political academy of the former governor in collaboration with Gateway Front Foundation is themed ‘Proper Information Dissemination As a Tool For Political Development.’ It will hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Hall, located in the compound of Mr. Daniel’s palatial home in Sagamu.

The participants are comprised of both print and electronics journalists.

The programme of event includes topics such as film story of Nigeria, and discussions on lessons learnt from the democratic experience of Nigeria in a federal system.

The keynote address will be delivered by the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Femi Adesina.

There will also be a group discussion, which will focus on the major actors in Nigeria’s development, the motivation for their actions and decisions, the impact of decisions made on unity and development, lessons learnt, and the potential political developments going towards 2015.

A second group discussion will focus on why media and government are natural adversaries, why politicians fear criticisms from the media, how politicians and government can better utilise the power of the media to their own advantage, and so on.
