Aderemi died on Tuesday at the age of 74
The Speaker, Ekiti House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, has described the death of a former speaker of the house, Friday Aderemi, as a great loss to the legislature and the entire state.
Mr. Aderemi died on Tuesday at the age of 74.
Mr. Omirin said this in a statement issued by his media aide, Wole Olujobi, on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti.
The speaker said that the late Mr. Aderemi contributed immensely to the development of the legislative arm and the good governance of the state.
“He was a patriotic citizen who had unparalleled zeal to affect the lives of Ekiti people,” he said.
In a similar vein, the Deputy Speaker, Adetunji Orisalade, described the deceased as a committed politician, adding that his death was shocking.
Mr. Orisalade said that Mr. Aderemi would forever be missed not only as a legislator, but also as a great contributor to the political development of Ekiti.
