Ajimobi appoints new Oyo SSG, eight commissioners

Ismael Alli is the new Oyo State SSG.

The Oyo state government on Tuesday announced the appointment of Ismael Alli as the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

Mr. Alli, an English Language graduate from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, will replace Waheed Olajide, who was sacked alongside other members of the state cabinet when the governor dissolved his cabinet.

Some of the sacked officers were later reappointed into the new cabinet formed weeks later.

In a press release to announce the appointment of the 56-year-old, the Special Adviser to the governor on media, Festus Adedayo, hinted that his boss forwarded eight names to the state House of Assembly for approval as commissioners and members of the state executive council.

Mr. Adedayo said the new SSG also holds a Masters in Industrial and Labour Relations from the University of Ibadan.

“He was an Assistant Registrar, Industrial Relations and Staff Development of the OAU from 1986 to 1989. He worked with Data Matics Nigeria Ltd. from 1986 to 2000. Until the appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Alcomer International Ventures Ltd., an office automation concern,” he stated.

Mr. Adedayo said the candidates for the post of commissioners include two former Special Advisers, Fatai Buhari and Tayo Koleosho, and a former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Atinuke Ashunkoya.

He listed other nominees as Fatai Abimbola, Nureni Tanimowo, Abideen Oladimeji, Bonuola Oyelade, and Iyiola Hammed.
