Olatunde is a Professor of Etymology.
The new Chief of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Ganiyu Olatunde, was on Friday sworn-in at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Guests at the swearing-in ceremony included relatives of the new Chief of Staff and members of the state executive council.
Mr. Olatunde, while taking his oath of office, assured that he would not leak or divulge any government secret to the public for any reason or cause. He also promised to contribute his quota, positively, to the growth of the state.
He called for cooperation from his colleagues in the cabinet, noting that the administration was blessed with competent and efficient cabinet members who he was happy to work with.
Mr. Amosun asked the Chief of Staff to see his appointment as a call to service. He advised Mr. Olatunde to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state, so that after leaving office, the new appointee’s name would remain positively relevant in the state.
“You should see your office as a clearing house, where you are to manage the governor and others. It is not an easy job, it is a call to service,” the Governor said.
The new Chief of Staff is a Professor of Entomology and at various times, was the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-chancellor of the Osun State University, Osogbo.
The 57-year-old, who has spent over 24 years in the academia, hails from Ikenne Local Government Area.
