The new appointee is a professor of etymology.
Two years after the resignation of his then Chief of Staff, Olusegun Ogunsanya, the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Thursday appointed Ganiyu Olatunde, a Professor of Etymology, into the empty office.
This was made known in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeolu, on Thursday.
“The Ogun State Government has announced the appointment of Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde as the new Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,” the statement reads.
The new Chief of Staff was at various times the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-chancellor of the Osun State University, Osogbo.
He has Doctorate (PhD) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Agriculture and Agricultural Biology from the University of Ibadan respectively. He also has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Zoology from the University of Lagos.
The 57-year-old teacher has spent over 24 years in the academics and has over 40 publications to his credit. He hails from Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.
The Chief of Staff will be sworn-in on Friday at the Executive Council Chambers, Office of the Governor, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
