The governor charged the newly appointed permanent secretaries to live up to their responsibility.
The Ogun State Government on Wednesday appointed and swore in seven new permanent secretaries in its civil service.
The new permanent secretaries and their new offices include: Gabriel Odeniyi (Health), Modupe Olurin (State Hospital Management Board), Ayoola Adesanya (Ogun State Employment Generation), Adesola Sobayo (Justice), Moyosore Olowomi (Youth and Sports), Adesina Badmus (State Pension) and Adisa Ayotunde (Local Government Pension).
The Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, while speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at his office in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said the inauguration of the new permanent secretaries from various cadres of the public service is to fill the existing vacancies. He congratulated them for being found worthy of the elevation.
“Like any system, vacuum must be occupied. The vacuum created by the recent retirement of some permanent secretaries in the civil service who have attained retirement has to be filled to complete the circle,” he said.
He called on the new permanent secretaries to see their elevation as a call to greater service and higher dedication.
“In this new office, I charge you to unite the various departments in your ministries in line with our administration’s mission to rebuild. We are beginning a new phase in the rebuilding the mission.
“As you implant your footprints in the sand of our state’s development process, it is my belief that you will not disappoint the people of Ogun State, whose trust is being vested in you today,” Mr. Amosun said.
The governor said his administration is committed to the development of all sectors of the economy of the state. He said as part of the efforts, his administration shall “continue to ensure the provision of the ambience needed for the optimal development of Ogun State and its people”.
Mr. Amosun said his government will also continue to promote partnership towards the development of the state.
