Twelve suspected fake officials of the Ogun State Vigilante Services were on Monday arrested in Abeokuta for carrying out illegal operations.
The suspects were caught when the state vigilante service swooped on their operational hideout located in Oke-Ilewo and Itoko areas of the town.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Vigilante Service, Soji Ganzallo, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said that arrangement was ongoing to hand over the fake officials to the police.
He said the suspects had been engaging in arresting and detaining people, seizing motorcycles and extorting money from them without transferring them to the police.
Exhibits found on them include13 mobile phones, six identity cards, one carter port and six motorcycles, amongst others.
