Oyo NURTW boss sues for peace over member’s killing

A member of the Oyo NURTW was murdered on Sunday.

The Oyo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Taofeek Oyerinde has called on the union members not to attempt avenging the killing of their colleague, Rafiu Adebayo, who was murdered in Ibadan on Sunday.

Mr. Oyerinde, popularly called Fele, said his warning was to prevent disruption of peace in the state.

The state police revealed the arrest of nine suspect in relation with the incident in a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday.

The state NURTW boss said his union had no intention of avenging the killing, urging his members to be law abiding and allow the police to perform its legitimate duties of investigating the incident and bringing the masterminds to justice.
