Many of the nominees are returnees.
The Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, on Wednesday sent names of some commissioner nominees to the House of Assembly for screening and ratification.
Though, there was no official confirmation on the list of nominees submitted to the House, it was, however, gathered that the list contained mainly those who served as commissioners in the last two years of Mr. Mimiko’s first term.
The nominees are believed to include the former Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade; Commissioner for Works, Gboye Adegbenro; Commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede; and Clement Faboyede, formerly of the Community Development and Cooperative Services.
Others are the former Commissioner for Health, Dayo Adeyanju; former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Deji Falae, former Commissioner for Natural Resources, Lasisi Oluboyo; and Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Akin Adaramola.
The list also includes the former Commissioner for Finance, Yele Ogundipe; and former Commissioner for Environment, Sola Ebiseni.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the only new entrant in the list is the Labour Party Woman Leader, Yemi Mahmud. It was gathered that the number of commissioners in the cabinet to be formed by the governor in his second term may not exceed 18.
A source within the Assembly said the lawmakers would invite the nominees for screening next week.
