Sina Egberongbe died on Tuesday in his hometown.
After a long battle with arthritis which paralysed his lower limbs, a former member of Federal Civil Service Commission for Ogun and Lagos States, Sina Egberongbe, died on Tuesday in Abeokuta, his hometown.
The deceased, who was a civil engineer, passed on at the age of 71. He had been staying indoors since the ailment.
Mr. Egberongbe, who was an Egba High Chief and doubles as an Islamic leader in the town, had been nursing the ailment for over five years using a walking stick to aid his movement; but at a stage, he was unable to cope.
The National President of the National Council for Muslim Youth Organisation, NACOMYO, Kamaal Akintunde, who confirmed the death to PREMIUM TIMES via an sms, said the Islamic leader died early Tuesday morning.
“It is true,news has it that Engr Shina Egberongbe passed on this morning. The Janazah prayer holds at Ake tomorrow at 4.00pm. May Allah admit him into Alijanna Frdau. Inalillahi,” Mr. Akintunde said
The deceased, according to family members, is to be buried on Wednesday according to Islamic rites.
