The officers were deployed to various strategic areas, the NSCDC PRO said.
The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 45 of its officers to various area commands and divisions across the state.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Kareem Olanrewaju, made this known in a press statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES in Abeokuta.
“The Commandant, Aboluwaye Akinwande of Ogun State Command has ordered the redeployment of key officers to various strategic areas,” he said.
Mr. Olanrewaju explained that the redeployment was meant to re-strategise ahead of the coming wet season.
He said that the redeployment was necessary to enable the command work effectively as this will help the officers in the affected areas collate strategic information for effective planning ahead of time.
In a related development, Mr. Olanrewaju said the command has made some progress in recent times in the areas of anti- vandalism crusade, adding that 66 major anti-vandalism related cases have been investigated.
“So far, while 13 are still under investigation. In addition, up to four cases have been transferred to the appropriate agencies, 14 have been resolved through alternative peaceful resolution,” he said.
“Between last month (February) and March, 17 suspects have been charged to court, while others who, after our investigation were found not culpable have been released,” Mr. Olanrewaju stated.
He said the corps will intensify efforts to curb vandalism on all critical infrastructure located in the state, adding that more men and resources are already being earmarked to ensure the success of the operations.
“The corps is appealing to all members of the public to be security conscious as the consequences of nonchalant attitude may be disastrous,” the spokesperson said.
