The NDLEA appealed to Ondo citizens to expose drug dealers.
Thirty drugs and narcotic peddlers have been sentenced to jail; and sixty-three others have been arrested in the last three months in Ogun State.
The Acting Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Ogun, Okafor Olisa, made this known on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta.
Mr. Olisa disclosed that his agency was able to carry out successful raid operations where sixty three male suspects were arrested for various drug offences.
He said forty-nine addicts have been counseled and reintegrated back to the society.
“Forty-nine drug users were successfully counselled by the DDR unit for drug abuse and reintegrated into the society,” he stated.
“Thirty drugs suspects were convicted and sentenced to various jail terms while six charges were filed at federal High Court in the state,” the command boss stated.
“The total seizure of 869.162 kilogrammes of hard drug was recorded which include cannabis sativa, heroin and cocaine,” he also disclosed.
Mr. Okafor appealed to the parents to monitor their wards. He said residents of the state should not hesitate to expose drug dealers in their environment.
