Two students injured in Ibadan building collapse

Two students got severely hurt in an accident on Tuesday.

Two school children were on Tuesday injured when a building collapsed on them around Idi-Ose in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The victims, a 15-year-old male and a three-year-old female, were on their way to their respective schools when the building collapsed on them, a witness said.

The witness said the prompt intervention of an on-looker, who saw the children passing behind the building when it collapsed, ensured the kids were rescued alive.

The on-looker raised an alarm which attracted residents to the scene of the incident and the victims were rescued and taken to the hospital.

The boy, the witness said, sustained head injuries and was taken to Adeoyo State Hospital for treatment.

The girl is currently receiving treatment for a broken leg at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
