Manager charged with stealing N5m goods

The accused person allegedly stole goods worth N5.09 million.

A Manager with SunSet Express Cargo Limited, Obiora Olisaegbo, has been accused of stealing assorted goods worth N5.09 million from the company.

The 29-year-old manager, who lives at 32, Ariyo Street, Igando, Lagos, on Thursday, appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates Court in Lagos on one count of stealing.

The prosecutor, Victor Eurada, said the manager stole the goods on December 18, 2012, at the company’s premises on the Lagos State Development and Property Commission, LSDPC, Estate, Isolo, Lagos.

“The defendant stole assorted goods such as female and male wears worth N5, 094,000, property of Mr. Ifeanyi Celestine,” Mr. Eurada said.

He submitted that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, O. O. Oshin, granted him bail in the sum of two hundred thousand naira with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to April 17 for mention.
