The Ogun State first lady gave N10, 000 to the two groups to share among themselves.
There was a mild drama on Tuesday in Abeokuta as commercial drummers engaged a group of deaf and dumb persons in a public fight over a largesse from the wife of the State Governor, Olufunsho Amosun.
The venue of the drama was the Moshood Abiola Stadium where the governor’s wife attended a programme.
On her way out of the venue after the programme, Mrs. Amosun was approached by the praise singers and the physically challenged persons.
In a show of generosity, the governor’s wife handed out a bulk sum of N10, 000 to one of the drummers to be shared by both groups and then drove off. However, the drummer attempted to cheat the physically challenged persons.
This led to a mild ruckus that drew the attention of passers-by. The deaf and dumb persons gesticulated their fury with the drummers to onlookers, asking for an intervention. At the same time, some members of the physically challenged group held onto some of the drummers and insisted on getting their share of Mrs. Amosun’s generosity.
During the argument, the drummer who received the money from the governor’s wife, aided by his colleagues, absconded. This did not deter the other group, who continued to the demanded for their share of the money.
The crisis was brought under control by members of Women In Politics who intervened and placated the physically challenged.
