The Akure Chief died on Monday night.
The traditional institution of Akure kingdom was thrown into mourning on Monday night as one of its High Chief, Bolanle Adedipe, the Elemo of Akure, died.
Aged 75,the late Mr. Adedipe was the Head of Ilemo compound in the capital city and also ranked third in command to the Deji of Akure, Adebiyi Adesida.
The late Elemo died at about 8 p.m. on Monday, at his Elemo palace, Ilemo compound in the heart of the town.
He was an accomplished lawyer who was ran a successful private legal practice in Lagos before he was elected into the lower chamber of the National Assembly as a representative of Akure Federal Constituency in the Second Republic.
The lawyer turned politician was later installed as the Elemo of Akure kingdom, which made him a kingmaker and member of Deji-in-Council, the highest traditional institution in Akure headed by the Deji of Akure.
The fair complexioned traditionalist played very prominent role in the installation of Oba Adebiyi Adesida in 2010 after the deposition of Oluwadare Adepoju by the Olusegun Mimiko led state government.
He would also be remembered for the roles he played during the crisis that engulfed the Deji’s stool after the demise of Oba Adebobajo Adesida, when the stool was occupied by a Regent, Princess Adeyinka Adesida, for over six years.
