The police knocked an Okada rider into a gutter

Police officers attached to the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad, Monday, used their patrol van to hit a commercial motorcyclist (popularly known as Okada rider) into a gutter before arresting him.

The police officers, numbering about seven, also impounded the motorcycle.

The officers had chased the motorcyclist down Agidingbi Road, overtaking him at Coca Cola Bus stop, and using the side of the van to knock him into the gutter.

It was unclear if the Okada rider sustained serious injuries as the police officers quickly alighted from their van, herded both man and motorcycle into their van, and drove away.

Despite Lagos State Government’s claims to the contrary, the police have continued a vigorous, and sometimes violent enforcement of the ban on commercial motorcyclists on major roads across the state.
