Protesters in Ogun also accused one of the traditional rulers of various crimes.
The Ogun State Police Command, Saturday, said it has commenced investigation into the public brawl involving two traditional rulers in the state.
The monarchs- Fatai Akamo, the Olu of Itori, and Adisa Akinremi, the head of Lapeleke community- have already been suspended by the state government over the brawl. They were accused of engaging in a brawl which saw Mr. Akamo slap Mr. Akinremi, with the latter retaliating with slaps and blows.
Some other village chiefs in Onigbedu community and environs have also accused Mr. Akamo of withholding their monthly allowances since 2010. They took their protests to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Friday.
Armed with various placards, the local chiefs called on Mr. Amosun to intervene, by calling Mr. Akamo to order over his alleged excesses as a royal father.
The protesters, led by a village head, Sikiru Jinadu, handed over their letter of complaint to the governor, alleging that the royal father was fond of imposing village heads in communities where there are already existing community leaders.
While the state government has set up a panel to investigate the allegations against Mr. Akanmo, the police have denied detaining the two traditional rulers involved in the brawl.
In a statement issued by the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the police explained that the two traditional rulers were invited and interrogated, but not put behind bars.
