The Enugu State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned 13 persons suspected to be members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and Biafran Independence Movement (BIM).
The suspects were arraigned in Enugu before the Enugu North Magistrate court.
The 13 suspects were arraigned following their procession on Monday to mark the 49th anniversary of the declaration of the State of Biafra by late Odumegwu Ojukwu.
According to the charge sheet No 245c/2016, the suspects were arraigned for belonging to an unlawful society called Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB).
They were also accused of taking part in an unlawful assembly on the said date and place.
The suspects, after listening to their counts, pleaded not guilty to each of the charges, as the magistrate, E.N Alukwu, adjourned the case to June 23, 2016, for hearing while the bail application was granted with condition.
