After many days of politicking and hours of voting at the Lamido Cinema in Yola, Jibrilla Bindow has clinched the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial ticket for Adamawa State.
Mr. Bindow scored 1,880 votes to defeat Yayaji Yawa who scored 1183 vote to place second, while a former secretary to the state government, Kobis Thimnu, polled 85 votes.
A former director general of Nigeria Law School, Tahir Mamman, scored 17 votes, while 24 votes were declared invalid.
Announcing the results at about 6.50a.m. Friday, the chairman of the primaries election panel, Abubakar Yawe, described the election as the most peaceful and transparent as all the aspirants were satisfied with the process.
