Some All Progressives Congress, APC, youth under the aegis of Pan Igbo Youth Movement, have endorsed presidential aspiration of the founder of the Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah, on the platform of the party.
The youth, who made the endorsement when they visited the South East Zonal Office of the Sam Nda Isaiah Campaign Organisation, Awka, Anambra State on Tuesday, said the aspirant was the best among those contending for the party’s ticket.
Three other aspirants who will contest for the party’s ticket at its presidential primary election holding on December 10, are former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano.
The group’s chairman, Nwoye Odinakachukwu, said they had run a review of all the aspirants and came to the conclusion that of the four, only Mr. Nda Isaiah met the yardsticks used in
determining who the best candidate was.
He stated that aside the fact that he was the only intellectual in the race, the group also said the aspirant had a clean record. He said he Mr. Nda-Isaiah, therefore, deserves to be the candidate of the APC.
“We will mobilise the delegates for you, we are assuring you that we will storm the venue of the convention whether it is in Lagos, Abuja or Benin and mobilise for you. Igbo delegates are for you and we will ensure that you have 99 percent of votes from NdiIgbo delegates,” Mr. Odinakachukwu said.
“All we ask is that when you win the primaries and then go on to win the elections, ensure that you reverse the marginalisation suffered by Ndigbo, help revive our industries and give us the infrastructure that we need.”
Responding, the Director of Publicity of the Organisation of the Sam Nda Isaiah Campaign Organisation, Igboeli Arinze, commended the youth for their support and promised to deliver their message to his principal.
Mr. Arinze said that anytime from now, Mr. Nda-Isaiah would tour the South East and hold sessions with the delegates from the region.
He also said that a Sam Nda-Isaiah ticket would usher in for the Nigerian youths great opportunities which for the now lay moribund because we have a pack of self-serving leaders who have mortgaged the nation’s resources for themselves and their immediate families alone.
