Some permanent secretaries in some ministries were also affected.
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle in the State Executive Council, a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, on Tuesday, said.
Also affected are some permanent secretaries.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Transport, Ihukwumere Alaribe was moved to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. The Commissioner for Petroleum and Environment, Okey Okoro would supervise the Transport Ministry pending when a new commissioner would be appointed.
The Accountant-General of the state, George Eche was appointed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works; while S.N. Udogwu, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government would take over from Mr. Eche as the Accountant-General.
Uzoma Uwandu replaces Ms. Udogwu as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development while E.O. Igwe moves from the Local Government Service Commission to the Ministry of Internal Resources and Pension Affairs as Permanent Secretary.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Lilian Asuzu moves to Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources while Bona Ibebuike moves from Ministry of Petroleum and Environment to Ministry of Community Government, Culture and Traditional Affairs.
Ijeoma Ekeanyanwu moves from the House of Assembly Service Commission to Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology while Nobert Okoro leaves the Ministry of Works for Ministry of Finance.
The statement said the “changes were carried out to ensure optimum productivity and in the overall interest of the people of the state.”
