Cult clash claims 2 lives in Benin

The deceased persons have been identified, the police says
Two persons were killed on Tuesday in Benin, the Edo State capital, following renewed rivalry between two cult groups.

The police spokesperson in the state, Moses Eguavoen, who confirmed the murder, said investigation had been initiated.

Mr. Eguavoen said the corpse of the victims had been deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary in Benin by men of the command.

According to him, the two victims have been identified. He said that they were killed at different locations at Ugbiyoko in Egor Local Government Area of Edo.

One of the victims was said to be a final year student in one of the institutions in Benin.

A police source said that one of the deceased was shot at a residence at Uyi when he was going to work.

The Police spokesperson said no arrest had been made.
