The child was kidnapped on November 17.
The Police in Delta have rescued a six-year-old girl and arrested her suspected kidnapper.
The Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Lucky Uyabeme, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Asaba.
He said that the child was kidnapped on November 17 at the premises of the Living Faith Church in Warri.
The spokesman said that it was the Enerhen Divisional Surveillance and anti-kidnapping team on patrol that received information of the abduction of the girl.
He said that based on the information, the operatives swung into action and arrested the alleged kidnapper; an undergraduate while checking into a hotel in Warri.
The police spokesperson said that the alleged kidnapper checked into a hotel with his victim whose hands and mouth he tied with cellotape.
Mr. Uyabeme, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said that the victim had been reunited with her parents, adding that the suspect was now helping the police with investigations.
He assured that the suspect would be made to face the full weight of the law soon.
Mr. Uyabeme advised parents and guardians to watch the movement of their children to save them from falling prey to criminals.
He also assured the public that the command had put adequate measures in place to ensure a peaceful yuletide.
