The suspect was accused of stealing 100 litres of MTN diesel
A 28-year-old man, Folorunso Ademuwagun, who allegedly stole diesel valued at N65,000, property of MTN Nigeria, was on Friday remanded at Okitipupa Prisons in Ondo State.
An Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, which gave the order, said the accused should be kept behind bars until hearing of the case would begin.
The Magistrate, Olalekan Awodeyi, did not give any reason for refusing the accused bail.
Mr. Ademuwagun, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of stealing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Zedekiah Orogbemi, had told the court that the accused stole 650 litres of diesel valued at N65, 000 from the industrial generator of MTN mast at Erinje in Okitipupa.
He said the accused committed the offence on October 28 at 2.40 a.m.
The offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ondo State, 2006, Mr. Orogbemi added.
The case was adjourned to November 13 for mention.
