The aspirant called for proper primaries wherein a candidate would be chosen.
A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra, Godwin Ezeemo, has called on other politicians to play the game by the rule.
Speaking with newsmen in Awka on Friday, Mr. Ezeemo expressed displeasure in the “do-or-die” system of politicking in the country.
Mr. Ezeemo challenged the purported endorsement of former Anambra governor and now senator, Chris Ngige, by the APC leadership and called for the conduct of primaries.
He said he would not have any hard feelings if the best person emerged from the primaries where all the aspirants would have had a level playing ground to test their popularity.
“If you are convinced that you have got the stuff, that you are endowed with huge and untapped resources to create a desired change in your society, you should be civil. The quest and thirst for power need to be controlled and managed to a great extent; not distorting the stability and tenets of politics and feelings of others unjustly,” Mr. Ezeemo said.
He said the party structures which anointed and reached conclusions without the input of the grassroots should be checked as it failed the test of true representation and seal of the people’s will.
