Only two aspirants have emerged from the ACN in Anambra.

A newspaper publisher, Godwin Ezeemo, has declared his intention to run for the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

Mr. Ezeemo made the declaration at the ACN state headquarters in Awka before the state executive and ward leaders of the party. He said his interest in the party’s flag was because of its maturity and the quality of its leadership in the state.

He also promised to use his talents to reduce the high level of poverty in the state by creating employment for the teeming youths and to turn around the wheels of leadership for good.

The aspirant, who is the Chairman of Orient Group, publishers of Orient Newspapers, said he had ideas of why things worked well in the western world and would put them to use in the state. He said he got into politics to also use his wealth of knowledge to transform the untapped agricultural endowments to put smiles in thousands of faces in the state.

Mr. Ezeemo said he had the magic wand to reduce the level of insecurity in the state. He promised to improve on the current educational system and to give hope to indigent students.

He said that education in the state would be transformed like never before in the history of the state and that it would no longer be for the rich only.

The aspirant said the healthcare system in the state would be more qualitative and more accessible to the people at reduced cost. He said that qualified personnel would be recruited and remunerated adequately for them to put in their best with modern equipment at their disposal.

The aspirant asked for a fair ground during the primaries to elect who would carry the party flag, reminding the officials of his past antecedents.

Reacting to the declaration, the Chairman of the party in the state, Amechi Obidike, assured the aspirant of fair play for the contestants.

Mr. Obidike said Senator Chris Ngige and Mr. Ezeemo were the only people who had declared interest in the party’s flag for the election proposed for Nov. 16.
