The former governor spoke to journalists at the ACN convention in Lagos.
A former Governor of Imo, Achike Udenwa, on Thursday said that the yet-to-be registered All Progressives Congress, APC, would have a landslide victory in the 2015 elections.
Mr. Udenwa, a two-term Imo Governor, made the declaration while answering questions from journalists at the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, national convention held at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
“Aside from victory at the center, the APC will win the governorship polls in Imo in 2015. The APC is here to win and every Nigerian is welcome to support it,” he said.
He said that the most important aspect of the new party was its ideology of transforming the nation.
On how the APC would defeat the ruling PDP, Mr. Udenwa, who defected to ACN from the ruling party, added that what really mattered was the APC’s ideology.
“We have rights as Nigerians to join any party of our choice, but what matters is how serious the party is in effecting a change. I am pained that many Nigerians suffer in the midst of plenty.
“The APC is here to win and to bring succour to Nigerians,” he said.
On the removal of Jude Agbaso as Deputy Governor of Imo State, Mr. Udenwa said he was aware of the matter, but would not comment as the matter was already before the court.
