The Imo Governor commiserated with the families of the Kano victims.
The Imo State Government said it has put the security agencies on red alert to forestall any form of reprisal attack over the explosion at the luxury bus park in Kano.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chinedu Offor, the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, in Owerri on Thursday.
“The general public is, therefore, enjoin to discountenance the rumour of reprisal attack and go about their lawful engagements without any fear.
“We wish to reassure the people of the state, including our brothers and sisters from the north, that government has put in place necessary security measures for the protection of lives and property,’’ he said.
The statement noted that the state government would not hesitate to deal with anyone that might hide under any guise to perpetrate crime in the state.
It stated that Governor Rochas Okorocha condoled with the government and people of Kano State on the explosion at in Sabon Gari, Kano, saying he was “sad and disturbed” by the incident.
“The attack is not only barbaric but evil, callous, condemnable and does not in any form reflect our belief and culture,” the governor said.
