Virgy Ngozi Etiaba

The former governor stated this when an aspirant paid her a visit.

A former Governor of Anambra, Virgy Etiaba, has crticised the position of some stakeholders that the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state be zoned to Anambra North Senatorial district.

Ms. Etiaba made her position known in Nnewi on Tuesday when a philanthropist and governorship aspirant, Godwin Ezeemo, visited her.

She said that the governorship slot should be thrown open to the three senatorial zones so that the best candidate could emerge

Ms. Etiaba, who was the first female state governor in Nigeria, urged the aspirant to continue to champion the cause of the less privileged in his charity endeavours.

She said if God approved his aspiration, he would be the next governor in the state.

Earlier, Mr. Ezeemo lauded Ms. Etiaba’s for the foundation she established to touch the lives of the people in her community.

He said that having lived abroad and seen the orderliness and development there, his intention was to come home and replicate same in his state.

The aspirant, who expressed his readiness to serve the people, promised that if elected, security of lives and property would be guaranteed to attract foreign investors to the state.
