Mr. Oshiomhole, Tuesday announced the appointment of Kassim Afegbua as his media adviser. Mr. Afegbua, a veteran journalist, is best remembered as a mouthpiece and staunch defender of the former military dictator.
He also worked as Director of Media and Publicity for Mr. Oshiomhole’s Campaign Organisation in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.
Apart from Mr. Afegbua, Mr. Oshiomhole also approved the appointment of Mikainu Kadiri as Principal Security Officer; John Akhigbe, Senior Special Assistant (Protocol); Esohe Adams, Senior Special Assistant ,Governor’s Office; Mika Amanokhai, Senior Special Assistant, Government House; Osama Erediauwa, Senior Special Assistant, Special Duties; Choice Greg-Haruna ,Senior Special Assistant, Government House; and Yakubu Kadiri, Special Assistant, Governor’s Office.
The Edo governor had shortly before his inauguration for a second term in office, dissolved his cabinet and other key appointments.
However, the statement announcing these key appointments, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Peter Okhiria, said the Governor has directed some committees and state agencies to commence work immediately.
The agencies were listed as Sanitation and Environment Committee; War Against Indiscipline Committee; Judicial Service Commission; Civil Service Commission; Edo State Basic Education Board; and Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.
