Oshiomhole gets ready for second term of office.
The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday extended the decision to dissolve the State Executive Council to the boards of the state government agencies and commissions.
The governor held a valedictory service to dissolve the Executive Council. At the service, he thanked the outgoing members for their loyalty and dedication to duty towards the development of the state and directed that they hand over to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
In continuation of the gale sweeping changes in his cabinet, the governor said in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Ekiuwa Inneh, that all political appointees, including Special Advisers, Executive Directors, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Chairmen and members of Boards of Parastatals, Committees and Task Forces have also been affected.
“Only the Board of Internal Revenue and Directorate of Information and Telecommunications Technology (ICT) are exempted from this exercise.
“All political appointees are to hand over all government properties in their possession, including vehicles, to the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Central Administration, Governor’s Office,” Mr. Oshiomhole said.
