Another Cross River lawmaker is dead

Three months after a lawmaker in Cross River slumped and died while on a routine fitness exercise, another lawmaker from the state, Simon Nkoro, has been reported dead.

Mr Nkoro, who represented Ikom II State Constituency, is said to have died on Saturday in the state after a protracted illness.

A fellow lawmaker in the state, Friday Okpechi, who represents Obubra 1 State Constituency, confirmed the sad incident to PREMIUM TIMES, Sunday afternoon.

The late Mr Nkoro was a two term lawyer.

The lawmaker who died in May, Stephen Ukpukpen, represented Obodu State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly. He was the Chairman, Public Accounts Committee of the assembly.
