With results from only one local government being awaited, the ruling All Progressives Congress has taken an unassailable lead in the Edo governorship elections.

The result of Ovia South West is yet to be announced as INEC personnel await the return of officials who supervised elections in the council.

From the results of 17 local governments announced so far, the APC has 306,663 votes while the PDP has 244,363 votes.

Already, the PDP has rejected the results. The party’s chairman, Dan Orbi, alleged that the results were fabricated and predetermined.

It is very clear now that it is the PDP that sets up INEC to declare inconclusive results! I think we should note their antics!

  • Watch man

When APC lost and complained in Rivers State, the current governor, Mr Wike, asked them to go to court. I think that same advice is good for the PDP in Edo State. This is the game they have all been playing. So, there should be no complain.

Thank God, the tension is over. It is now clear to all which of the two main parties was beating the drums of violence, PDP protesters having been driven away from the collation centre by the police.

  • Contact Point

Who expects Godwin Orbih to say something different? Does PDPig actually planned or thought that they would win?

  • Ade Omowest

The Edo PDP Chairman Dan Orbi should hire about 100 lawyers (SANs) and proceed to court. Meanwhile, Fake Pastor Ize-Iyamu should also be preparing for EFCC on the 700millon Naira 2015 elections bribe.

      My brother,
The fake and illiterate pastor thought he could deceive the people with his bogus title. But the Edo people rightly saw through his pretentiousness and elected not to go back to Egypt. For far too long in this country, we have had situations when good work is not rewarded but the people this time, chose to reward a performing team by electing an educated man, a man of ideas and a progressive to lead them in the journey to the promised land instead of a tout in the mode of Fayose of Ekiti State and Wike of Rivers State.

Congratulations to the good people of Edo state for making the right choice!!

The results were rigged. PDP clearly won but the janjaweeds APC in connivance with INEC rigged it. We will not accept it.

What is “janjaweed”? Aren’t you tired of this childishness?

Osho Baba don bury d godfather a long time ago. If u like manipulate the dollar to 1m naira. Congrats H .E Obasike. Gbosa to Osho Baba for teaching em electoral lesson.

    • Ade Omowest

Who cares whether you accept the result or not. Oleku, the next zone of interest is the S/East, APC will win democratically about two States to join Imo State to make the number of APC States in the S/East 3. You better go back home and start to prepare because PDPig has been totally uprooted from Edo State.

      • Oleku

Over our dead body will APC win in the East. We’ll sack them in Imo come next year. Mark my words.

        • Ade Omowest

Imo State? Abeg go join APGA so as not to commit suicide when PDPig is totally buried. With your “gragra” APC recently secured a Senator in Okigwe axis of Imo with little effort.

    • okpada

Oleku, the people have spoken through the PVCs and the result is clear to every right thinking persons that election winning in Nigeria will be judged by performance in office and not through manipulation via godfathers any longer. Congratulations to INEC and their staff.

It is high time that PDP, realize that Nigerians are not dumb and fools as the glaring evidences of PDP-reins in Nigeria for the past sixteen years especially, former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,s rein which witnessed widespread looting, stealing and embezzlement of our national public treasuries and assets by PDP top members especially, 2011-fuel subsidy scam, import duty scam,
NSA-massive looting of our security budget meant for fighting Boko Haram insurgency which was distributed among top PDP members by instructions of former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan under his security adviser,Col.Sambo Dazuki, that wrecked Nigerian security budget.PDP, is seen by Nigerians as epitome of corrupt-ridden political institution.PDP can not expect its candidate to win any credible election no more in Nigeria.PDP would definitely loose the upcoming gubernatorial election in ONdo State in november, 2016 to APC as well.

Oshio Baba, I am happy the Edo people have shown their love for you by this victory by GO. I am not from Edo but you have tried in a land of corruption and proved that Edo can progress among comity of States in Nigeria. PDP tried but it should accept defeat because they ought to have realized from the onset that it was going to be an uphill task defeating GO and APC under your successful leadership in Edo state. I can sleep well now.

    • Western

thank you my brother. time to sleep very very well. The best independence celebration is on Saturday October 1 2016. Sai Oshio Baba.
