The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Wednesday said election to determine its candidate in the forthcoming governorship poll in Edo would be conducted on June 30.
The national director of publicity of the party, Ifeanacho Ogbuejiofor, made this known in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Mr. Ogbuejiofor said the party fixed the date for the primary following the time table for the election recently released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He, however, said that only one person had so far bought the expression of interest and nomination form of the party for the primary poll.
He said APGA would participate in the election, and that the party would cooperate with INEC to conduct credible poll.
Mr. Ogbuejiofor disclosed that the cost of the nomination form for the election was N6 million.
NAN reports that Osaro Onaiwu, immediate past Director-General of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, obtained APGA’s nomination form for the Edo election on Tuesday in Abuja. (NAN)
