The Rivers State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday urged its members to remain calm and be law-abiding, following the verdict of the Supreme Court rejecting Governor Nyesom Wike’s appeal.
The apex court on Tuesday struck out an appeal by Mr. Wike, challenging the relocation of the Election Petition Tribunal from Port Harcourt to Abuja.
The state chairman of the party, Felix Obuah, made the call in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, in Port Harcourt.
It stated that in spite of the verdict against Mr. Wike and the state legislators, there was no cause for alarm.
According to the statement, all members of the party and Rivers people should remain resolute as Mr. Wike, the legislators and party would be victorious at the end of the day.
“But we can now see light at the end of the tunnel, and are therefore, not perturbed. We are sure of victory,” it stated.
The statement also said Mr. Wike’s administration was focused and determined to put smiles on the faces of the people.
