The Senate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced the resumption date of 2019-2020 academic sessions for all undergraduate students of the institution.
This was disclosed in a memo sent to PREMIUM TIMES and signed by the university registrar, Fatima Binta-Mohammed.
All students of BUK have been directed by the management of the institution to resume for 2019/2020 academic sessions on January 18, 2020
The management said 2019/2020 first semester is expected to run from January 18, 2021 to March 13, 2020.
According to the memo, March 15 to April 26 is slated for, “Marking, Departmental and Faculty boards meeting, Senate business committee (SBC) and Special Senate Meeting for Exams.”

Meanwhile, the second semester is billed to commence May 3, to August 5, 2021.
Before the ASUU strike last year and the attendant disruption by COVID-19, BUK had completed its mid-semester break for the first semester of 2019/2020 academic session for undergraduates.
The memo, however, did not communicate preparations for the 2020/2021 academic session.
