The Sokoto State government has disbursed N31 million to 775 beneficiaries to enable them send their children to school.
The state commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Bala Kokani, disclosed this on Thursday at a press briefing in Sokoto.
Mr. Kokani said that the disbursement was made under the government’s conditional cash transfer project of the Millennium Development Goals.
He added that the state government had revived its moribund food and nutrition committee.
Mr. Kokani said government had also conducted situation assessment and analysis of all communities in the state.
The commissioner disclosed that experts have begun fine-tuning documents as part of preparations for the 2017 budget.
Mr. Kokani said the state government achieved significant success in meeting the targets of the 2016 budget, and assured that more projects would be implemented for the benefit of the citizenry next year.
He expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the 2016 budget.
Mr. Kokani said the state government had created a website for showcasing its activities under the Millennium Development/Sustainable.
