The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged the 8th Senate of Nigeria to review the Constitutional provisions against sharp practices.
The Governor said this to a delegation of the Senators who were at the government house to sympathize with the people of the state over a recent bomb blast at the Kano GSM market.
Mr. Ganduje said there should be a re-examination of the current laws to reflect the cultural and religious values of the people.
The governor, who commended the Senators for backing President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti graft fight, said the legislators should do more by providing the enabling environment to the fight.
He said the Senate has high profile and experienced people.
The delegation, Senators Bala Na’ Allah, Deputy Majority Leader, Kabiru Gaya and Jeremiah Usaini and Barau Jibrin, donated N2 Million to the victims of the bomb blast.
The deputy Majority Leader, Bala Na’ Allah, commended Governor Ganduje for his efforts in creating local revenue.
He said Kano is lucky to have a governor who has a Phd and added that the education sector will be the greatest beneficiary as thus.
