Kebbi PDP leaders decamp to APC

Saidu Dakingari

The immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kebbi State, and dozens of other leaders of the party, have dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Three aggrieved governorship aspirants of the party, namely, Mansir Mansa, Hussaini Adamu and Zubairu Dabai, also defected to the APC.

They accused the PDP of victimizing them, and expressed a lack of confidence the party will give them justice.

Other party leaders who dumped the PDP include Abbas Jega, Danjuma Kamba, Shehu Malisa, Bala Gwandu, Rilwanu Auwal, Ilyasu Kambaza, Dambegu Vice, Usman Zuru, Danjuma Zuru, Aliyu Kalgo, Haruna Magarza, Abu Dangoje, and Bello Kaoje, who lost the Suru/Bagudu federal constituency election to an APC candidate.

The running mate of the APC governorship candidate, Sama’ila Yombe, who received the decampees in Zuru on Sunday, said the party was consulting with many PDP members who will also join the APC before the governorship election.

“PDP is not a party to remain in,” he said.

A sinking ship; you better jump off before it sinks completely. Gali Na’abah and Ondo deputy governor are singing halleluah today. Follow my advice and do it before it is too late.

House of cards is crumbling. Get out before you are buried in it.

We objectively concluded that PDP was dead at the time if the occurrence of these three land mark events in the history of the party: 1. Imposition of Jonathan as the Party’s flag bearer against gentleman’s agreement 2. Imposition of Bamanga Tukur an outdated and expired Politician, as the Party’s Chairman and 3. Use of Boko Haram by Jonathan as a political weapon against perceived enemies
We are now witnessing the burial ceremonies. The fate of the PDP now is entire in the hands of the APC. It is up to the latter to sit up and face the rehabilitation tasks ahead squarely, thereby permanently confining the boastful PDP to opposition party, or dilly dally and waste the golden opportunity, thereby handing back to PDP their commanding position on a platter of gold
