The All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State has alerted the general public and the security agencies of what it termed a plan by the Peoples Democratic Party to stir violence so that elections will be held under curfew.

The party made this known in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan.

The APC said it “painfully note the desperate antics of the PDP as it prepares to sabotage the elections”. According to the party it has uncovered plans by the PDP in the state to instigate violent actions and confrontations as a pretext to impose curfews, suppress turnout and rig.

The APC asked all its supporters to continue to ignore provocation, stay calm and report every act of violence, intimidation, harassment or threat to the authorities.

“We are also alerting the general public to be vigilant and calling on all the security agencies in the state to note and deter the PDP’s planned ambush of our people’s democratic will,” the party said.

It called for continued vigilance and commitment to peaceful, fair and credible elections saying “Sixteen years since the return of civil rule, there are no excuses not to embrace fair play”.
