The Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday said the Kaduna State people will be lucky to have a former minister, Nasir El-Rufai, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, as their governor in 2015.

Mr. Oshiomhole, who stated this during the flag-off campaign of Messrs. El-Rufai/ Bantex ticket at the trade fair complex in Kaduna, said since he got into Kaduna, he was yet to see new developments.

“All places of work have been shut down in Kaduna. I am in Kaduna in solidarity with the people and to ensure that a competent person emerges as governor,” Mr. Oshiomhole said.

“We want a Kaduna that will work because I see myself as a Kaduna man. With El-Rufai, Kaduna will grow. Kaduna people must unite and vote El-Rufai who knows how to develop a place.”

“As minister, he made Abuja great. If he emerged Kaduna governor, Kaduna will be great again. There is no new thing in Kaduna. All places of work have been closed. Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Edo, Lagos, Sokoto, Bayelsa and all other states and Nigeria will be govern by APC,” Mr. Oshiomhole said.

Mr. El-Rufai said he and his running mate will not disappoint Kaduna people if they win.

He urged APC members and supporters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and not respond to insults.

“Myself and Bantex are very grateful to Kaduna people and our focus is to re-position Kaduna. We will not abuse anyone. We urged members not to cause trouble. If they torment you, don’t retaliate,” Mr. El-Rufai said.

“APC will form a government. If elected, we will not take state resources to someone in Abuja in the name of loyalty.”

“We will focus on the empowerment of farmers, teachers, students, state workers, market men and women and we will make Kaduna great,” Mr. El-Rufai said.

Before his speech, Mr. El-Rufai asked the crowd that thronged the venue of the programme to observe a minutes silence for people killed in Southern Kaduna, Birni-Gwari and the North-East.

Speaking earlier, his running mate, Mr. Batex said with the formidable team APC has, victory will be theirs.
Mr. Bantex said Mr. El-Rufai is God-fearing technocrat.

He said all aspirants that contested with Mr. El-Rufai in the primaries are working to ensure APC win all elections.

Mr. Bantex urged all members of the APC to refrain from indulging in violence.

APC’s North-West National Vice Chairman, Lawal Shuaibu, who represented the National Chairman said Kaduna people are lucky because the change they are clamouring for will be a good one.

Mr. Shuaibu said Mr. El-Rufai is an asset to Kaduna. “The good things El-Rufai brought to Abuja, will be experienced in Kaduna”.
