A former Vice President and an All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday donated N 8.5 million to the party in Sokoto State.

Mr. Abubakar made the donation during his visit to the state as part of a nationwide campaign to woo the delegates to the party’s forthcoming presidential primaries.

Mr. Abubakar said that N5 million was given to the party to facilitate its activities; N1 million for the party’s elders while N2.5 million was for the 50 delegates from the state.

“My aspiration is never a do-or-die affair, but to stabilise the affairs and alleviate the suffering of the people in the country.”

Mr. Abubakar also said that the party’s presidential aspirants had already reached an agreement that whoever emerged after the primary elections will be given total support from all other members of the party.

He said the party was committed to the development of the nation, as well as sustained peace and unity.

Mr. Abubakar called on Nigerians to have good faith that their party would surely come to their aid if elected.

He prayed for peace to prevail in the country, especially in the areas were insurgency was still raging.

He commended the party leaders as well as the delegates for receiving him, assuring that he would protect the interest of the people and the party if given the mandate. (NAN)

  • OLU

Atiku needs to donate his loot to fighting Boko Haram in Borno, his own state and other parts of the North rather than buying delegates so he can come back as President and empty the nation’s treasury.

  • Dangara

Atiku is polluting the APC with PDP’s style of politics. Somebody should stop him before he does further damage to the Progressive party.

    • dr Umeh

Buhari also bribed the IMO state delegates, so it’s d norm of Nigerian politicians. They are all the same!

  • sir Oscie

We are tired of I don’t have money for nomination form/borrow borrow candidates. We don tire for shoeless president. All we need now is candidates that are ready for governance and leadership and Atiku has shown himself to be that and we are fully in support of his candidature. Change must come.. Atiku2015

  • True Nigerian

If he spends this amount in each state, (and I know he will still spend more than that in some states and on some other headings) he will have spent more than N240m. So from where does he intend to recoup that expenditure when he wins.

APC, be careful now! Bring out Buhari and end this whole waste of time. I will warn again. I will not campaign for Atiku, not because I don’t believe he has the skills and aptitude for governance, but because he is as corrupt as Jonathan. And I cannot make the argument that Haliburton bribery candidate is better than militant-funding incumbent President. Obviously, the latter is worse, but there is very little to choose between them. Give your ticket to Buhari/Ezekwesili or lose the election to Jonathan on a landslide.

    • MrFesh

I hope you have update now of Buhari giving 1milla to Imo delegates, do you have any vomit? Or sorry, comment?

  • ModyHH

There should be presidential election in Nigeria each year to induce all the thieves to give back to the society all the money they have looted all along. OBJ, Babangida, Danjuma, Tinubu, Kalu, Amaechi, Ohakim and the rest should pick up their forms and part with some money.

  • Baba Jada

Well done Atiku for providing support to your party (APC). This support is vital if the APC is to defeat the PDP. Regardless of the political allegiance of party members keep supporting them entirely. This will help in motivating them to serve the party better.

  • Zirem

This is what no one take away from Atiku, its his way. He always feels need to step in where ever and when ever its needed, I call him the fixer. Kudos Atiku.

    • Oluwadara

Kudos for Bribing delegates. We will never accept Atiku as our party candidate in APC.

      • Zirem

Atiku all the way, you are not one of the progressive. ‘Note that gifts of money or other items of value of an open nature to
the recipient where it is otherwise available to others on an equivalent
basis, and not for dishonest purposes, is not bribery” Encyclopedia.

        • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Zirem, no matter how well meaning Atiku may be with his giving, we need to break away with doing things the way it was done in the past if we truly desire a different and better future.

          • Zirem

How this relates to Atiku’s giving

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

            For real, Zirem?

          • Zirem

Thought you were going to explain how it relates.

          • MrFesh

Buhari has broken away. He gave only 1milla. Juxtaposed with Atiku here, it is a huge reduction in bribe money, sorry, lobby money.

      • dr Umeh

Buhari also bribed the IMO state delegates, so it’s d norm of Nigerian politicians. They are all the same

      • MrFesh

But Buhari. He just gave one one milla to Imo delegates. That’s a more moderate bribe, sorry, lobby.

  • abucheadams

Atiku, the pillar that holds the edifice. Your good deeds will always be rewarded. #ANigeriaForAll

    • Oluwadara

Shut off. Which pillar. Is showing money and buying delegates you call pillar. Go and rethink.

  • deji

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

      Thanks, bruv.

Was able to join you earlier today.

      • deji

        We give thanks to God.

      • MrFesh

Expired, he just gave part of it to Imo delegates as ‘lobby’ not bribe, I understand. Kudos to you guys. APCeeeee

        • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

          Ifebuche, my dog.

          Keep barking uselessly.

By the time GMB moves into Aso Rock, you can start wagging your tail too.

          Woof, woof.

          • Maverick

Daydreaming. We don’t need a Coup Plotter.

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

You mean a “failed coup plotter” who has serially failed in Rivers, Nasarawa and the House of Assembly?

Your man has a track record of failures, wouldn’t you say?

    • MrFesh

Yea sai Buhari. Your money is working on Imo delegates. March on. Donate more. Change is coming.

  • Oluwadara

I never heard Atiku donating anything for the refuges and BH victims even in his home state of Adamawa, and now he is giving money to delegates. What does that mean? APC be careful with this old thief, he is going to buy off all the party delegates before you wake-up and call him to order.

  • Ogom

If they let this guy buy the APC ticket, it’s game over for them

  • Sword of Damocles

Spreading money around SHOULD NOT be the APC way. we already have one party(hint) that has a “PHD” in spreading money around. How about “marketplace of ideas” that is what the APC should aspire to be .
bigups to @Deji for the GMB info

    • MrFesh

It is hypocrite. We now have news of Buhari doing same in Imo. Any vomit? Sorry, comment?
